Taxes are Due May 10th and November 10th unless this date falls on a weekend or a Holiday, then it will be the next business day. Taxes are due for the entire year once the bills are printed. Indiana allows taxpayers to pay in 2 installments but only sends a single notification in the spring. This notification must be sent 15 days prior to the due date for the spring installment. Failure to receive a tax statement does not relieve the taxpayer of the responsibility for payment and penalties when delinquent.

How is my tax bill calculated?
The Assessor submits your assessment to the Auditor, who then calculates your taxes based on rates given to them by the State of Indiana. The Auditor also handles any exemptions and deductions on your property.
In general, taxes are calculated by multiplying the tax rate against the net assessed value of a property. Assessments for the current tax year were completed by March 1 of the previous year. This assessment is the gross assessed value. Deductions such as the Homestead deduction are subtracted from the gross assessed value to yield the net assessed value.
