Resiliency Commission

Welcome to the Resiliency Commission page.

This commission shall serve in a support and advisory role to assist the government of Monroe County, it’s departments, in improving their environmental sustainability and resilience in both operation and capital projects. 

The Commission may, subject to the specific authorization of the Monroe County Board of Commissioners, provide oversight to Monroe County environmental protection or sustainability programs funded by grants or other non-governmental or other non-governmental revenue sources.

The Commission may seek approval from the Monroe County Board of Commissioners to undertake other duties and may proceed to perform such duties when specifically directed to do so by the Board of Commissioners. 

 This commission consists of nine (9) team members appointed as follows:

(1) One County Commissioner, chosen by the Board of Commissioners.
(2) One County Council person, chosen by the County.

(3) Two citizen members chosen by the County Board of Commissioners. 
(4) One citizen member chosen by the County Council.
(5) One employee from the Monroe County Planning Department as determined by the                         Monroe County Plan Commission

(6) The Monroe County Stormwater Program Manager, or their designee. 
(7) The Monroe County Fleet and Building Manager, or their designee.
(8) The director of the Monroe County Emergency Management department, or their                        designee.
