Disease Intervention

Disease Intervention Specialists provide intervention services and partner notification for people affected by HIV, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea. Awareness and prevention programming for individuals, groups and corporations is offered upon request. The Disease Intervention office is located at 119 W. 7th Street in the Futures Family Planning Clinic. Please call (812) 349-2829, (812) 349-2039 or (812) 349-2700 for further assistance.

The Disease Intervention Program is state funded and serves the following 12 counties: Bartholomew, Brown, Clay, Greene, Lawrence, Monroe, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo.

The primary goal of disease intervention is to prevent the spread of disease and the development of complications. The program is comprised of the following core components:

  1. Surveillance
  2. Case Detection
  3. Case Follow-Up
  4. Education 
Positive Link provides HIV prevention counseling and testing routinely at the two sites listed below.
