Animal Bites & Rabies Control
Animal Bites & Rabies Control
Indiana Code 16-41-2-1 and 410 IC 1-2.3 provide information for all bites of domestic or wild animals to be reported to the Local Health Officer having jurisdiction. Animal bites reported include dog, cat, ferret, bat, fox, rat, skunk, and raccoon.
Animal bite reports received by the Monroe County Health Department are forwarded to the animal control office with jurisdiction of where the bite occurred.
Animal Control Offices
The Monroe County Health Department works with the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control, the Monroe County Sheriff's Animal Management, and other state and local health departments on most domestic animal bite complaints.
