Road Closings & Construction
The Freeze/Thaw Period for all non-exempt Monroe County maintained roadways is in effect from February 3rd to May 3rd each calendar year. Any vehicle in excess of 16,000 pounds must have a waiver to drive on non-exempt Monroe County maintained roadways. Please see Monroe County Code Chapter 480.
HIGH-WATER ROAD CLOSINGS
High water closings can and do change based on weather conditions. Please be aware of changing weather conditions. Monitor flood and flash flood watches and warnings. Do not cross water-covered roads.
FRIENDSHIP ROAD, from ECM to SR 46: Friendship Road closed Thursday, April 3, 2025, remains closed and until further notice, due to road flooding.
MCGOWAN ROAD, from Eldridge Road to Kent Road: McGowan Road closed Thursday, April 3, 2025, remains closed and until further notice, due to road flooding.
STIPP ROAD, @ Moores Pike Road: Stipp Road, near Moores Pike Road, closed Friday, April 4, 2025, remains closed and until further notice, due to road flooding.

MAPLE GROVE ROAD W, between Maple Court and Union Valley Road, (@ 5115 W Maple Grove Road): Maple Grove Road W will be closed near 5115 W Maple Grove Road on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm for a culvert replacement by Monroe County Bridge Crews.

BLUEBIRD LN, between Snoddy Road & Bluebird Ct, (@ 3525 Bluebird Ln): Monroe County Highway Crews will be doing full depth patching near 3525 Bluebird Lane during the week on Monday, April 28, 2025 – Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. There will be lane restrictions with traffic control.
DINSMORE ROAD, between State Road 45 & State Road 45, (@ 7185 Dinsmore Road): Monroe County Highway Crews will be doing full depth patching near 7185 Dinsmore Road during the week on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 – Friday, May 2, 2025, from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. There will be lane restrictions with traffic control.
KINGS ROAD, between Nathan Way & End of County Maintenance (ECM): Monroe County Bridge Crews will be performing culvert replacements in this area during the week on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 – Friday, May 2, 2025, from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. There will be lane restrictions with traffic control.
MAPLE GROVE ROAD W, at intersection of Matthews Drive: Monroe County Stormwater Crews will be performing wash out repairs in this area during the week on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm. There will be lane restrictions with traffic control.
MCNEELY STREET, between Chandler Drive & Limestone Drive: Monroe County Stormwater Crews will be doing a storm sewer repair in this area during the week on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 – Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm. There will be lane restrictions with traffic control.
MURAT ROAD, between Tunnel Road & ECM: Monroe County Stormwater Crews will be ditching in this area during the week on Monday, April 28, 2025 – April 29, 2025, from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm. There will be lane restrictions with traffic control.
RHORER ROAD, between Jamie Lane & Sare Road, (@ Bridge 75): Vectren will be working at Bridge 75 near the Jackson Creek Trail during the week on Monday, April 28, 2025 – Friday, May 9, 2025. There will be lane restrictions with traffic control.
SUNRISE GREETINGS COURT, from Vernal Pike to ECM: Force Construction will be performing ongoing road construction work daily from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm as part of the Vernal Pike Connector project that will continue through August 2025. MONROE COUNTY ROAD MAINTENANCE: Monroe County Highway Crews will be performing brief road maintenance functions including mowing, trimming trees, patching potholes, spreading stone, shoulder repairs, yard repairs and grading gravel roads in various areas throughout the County this week during the hours of 7 am – 3 pm. There will be lane restrictions with traffic control.
MONROE COUNTY BRIDGE MAINTENANCE: Monroe County Bridge Crews will be performing brief bridge maintenance functions and guardrail repairs in various areas throughout the County this week during the hours of 7 am – 3 pm. There will be lane restrictions with traffic control.
MONROE COUNTY STORMWATER MAINTENANCE: Monroe County SW Crews will be performing brief storm water maintenance functions including street sweeping, storm inlet and culvert maintenance, and cleaning culverts in various areas throughout the County this week during the hours of 7:30 am – 2:30 pm. There will be lane restrictions with traffic control.
