Probation Advisory Workgroup Information and Application

 Step 1 of 1

The Monroe Circuit Court Probation Department's Probation Advisory Workgroup will share ideas for how
juvenile probation can improve its work with youth and their families. We invite young leaders, ages 18-25,
who have experienced juvenile probation, including through diversion or supervision, to apply to join the Probation
Advisory Workgroup using this form. We are excited to have you join the workgroup!

Members of the workgroup will choose the issues to work on, such as making sure probation is fair for
everyone, informing how probation can help youth successfully and quickly get off probation, and shining a
light on how probation affects youth and their families.

As a member of the Probation Advisory Workgroup, you can expect to prepare for and actively engage in monthly,
virtual or in-person meetings in Bloomington and maintain routine communication with probation staff
supporting the Workgroup by email, text, or phone calls.

If you join, you should expect to spend about 90 minutes each month at in-person meetings and about 2 hours
per month outside of those meetings communicating or preparing. If selected, your appointment to the
Workgroup will last from June 2023 through June 2024. The Workgroup will meet monthly, including during
the Summer.

You will be eligible for a gift card incentive and supported with other resources necessary for your full participation.

You can also expect that the juvenile probation department will listen to you and make changes informed by
what you say!

Please complete and submit this application if you:

● Are 18-25 years old,
● Experienced juvenile probation in Monroe County, including diversion from probation or supervision on
    probation, before you turned 18,
● Have ideas for how juvenile probation can improve,
