The Monroe County Drug Treatment Court will hold a special ceremony to celebrate the “century mark” in current active participants, in addition to marking the milestone of over 200 participants successfully completing the rigorous 2-year program.

12/21/2010 4:20:00 PM Six Indiana Counties to Share $1,000,000 in Federal Drug Court Grant Funding

The Courts in Delaware, Marion, Monroe, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Vigo Counties will share more than one million dollars from a Bureau of Justice Assistance Drug Court Discretionary Grant, which was awarded to the Indiana Supreme Court Division of State Court Administration.

11/9/2010 10:32:00 AM 30TH YEAR CELEBRATION: BREAD BAKING, SERVICE AWARDS GIVEN AT CJAM’S BREADFEST

The Community Justice & Mediation Center held its Sixth Annual Breadfest celebration on November 9, 2010.  This year’s event marked CJAM’s 30th anniversary as an organization. CJAM is a local non-profit organization that provides mediation and conflict resolution services based on restorative justice principles.

 

10/28/2010 3:13:00 PM NO TRICK OR TREATING FOR SEX OFFENDERS

There will be no “trick or treating” for convicted sex offenders again this Halloween. As in the past nine years, registered sex offenders who are currently being supervised by the Monroe Circuit Court Probation Department will be required to report to the Justice Building to attend a mandatory meeting during trick or treat hours on October 31, 2010.

On December 16, 2009 the Monroe County Drug Treatment Court was awarded the prestigious National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) Community Transformation Award “in recognition of its tireless efforts to foster community transformation through reducing drug addiction and crime, restoring hope and reuniting families.”
