Project WET Basic Workshop: February 19, 2011. Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) is an interdisciplinary, water science and education program. Workshops are hands-on and designed to train educators in activities that cover many water related topics. Participants will receive the Project WET Curriculum & Activity Guide. Professional Growth Experience Points are available upon completion. The workshop will take place in Greencastle from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The workshop is free; however, pre-registration is required. Healthy Water Healthy People: March 4, 2011. This workshop will help educators address science standards through interactive activities that interpret water quality concepts and promote diverse learning styles with foundations in the scientific method. Participants will receive the Healthy Water Healthy People Educators Guide & Testing Kit Manual ($40 value). Professional Growth Experience Points are available upon completion. The workshop will take place at the Natural Resources Education Center in Indianapolis from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The workshop is free; however, pre-registration is required. Hoosier Riverwatch Basic Training: April 2011. Hoosier Riverwatch basic training will be held at various locations and times throughout Indiana. The training introduces citizens and educators to water quality monitoring utilizing hands-on habitat, chemical, and biological assessment methods. Any interested adult is welcome to attend, and once certified, may teach students how to monitor. Hoosier Riverwatch topics and activities are correlated to Indiana's Academic Standards for Science. The workshop is free, but pre-registration is required. Please bring a sack lunch and be prepared to be both indoors and outdoors.
