2012 MATERIAL BID NOTICE/INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of Monroe County, Indiana, will receive sealed bids for the following:
MONROE COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
1. Fuel-Gasoline: Unleaded and Gasohol - Diesel Fuel and Diesel Oil
2. Guardrail
3. Aggregate: Stone, Gravel and Sand
4. Concrete Structures
5. Longitudinal Pavement Markings, Paint
6. Longitudinal & Transverse Markings, Thermoplastic
7. Corrugated Metal Pipe and End Sections
8. Aluminum Structural Plate
Sealed bids will be received at the Monroe County Auditor’s Office, 100 W. Kirkwood Avenue, Bloomington, Indiana 47404, until 1:00 P.M. E.S.T., on Monday, December 3, 2012, and will be opened and read aloud immediately thereafter by representatives of the Monroe County Highway Department in the Monroe County Courthouse, Judge Nat U. Hill III, Meeting Room, 100 W. Kirkwood Avenue, Bloomington, IN. Any bid received after this time will be returned unopened. Bids transmitted by facsimile machine or e-mail will not be accepted.
Copies of the Instructions to bidders, the Specifications, and all necessary bid forms may be obtained from the Auditor’s Office.
All bids must be accompanied by (1) certified check, or (2) a bid bond payable to the Monroe County Treasurer, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. The certified checks and bonds of the unsuccessful bidders will be returned to them upon award of the contract to the successful bidders. The successful bidder shall submit a performance bond for 100% of the contract amount within 10 days of award of the bid.
The Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any defects or irregularities in the bidding.
The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any Bid, or portion of the Bid, and to waive any irregularities in the bidding. All bids may be held for a period not to exceed 60 days, or as otherwise stated in the Contract Documents before awarding the contract.
All out-of-state corporations must have a certificate of authority to do business in the State. Application forms may be obtained by contacting the Secretary of State, State of Indiana, Statehouse, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
