Nancy Nerad, M.Ed., LCAC, CACII- Clinical Coordinator
Nancy received her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Loyola University Chicago. Prior to joining Youth Services Bureau, she served as Outpatient Counselor at Amethyst House, providing clinical services to individuals with addiction issues. From 2005 to 2013, Nancy served as Associate Director of Programs at N Street Village in Washington, D.C. working with homeless and low income women. She has been a social services professional throughout her career with emphasis on homelessness, recovery, crisis intervention, and peer mentorship . Nancy is a trained facilitator of the Trauma Recovery Empowerment Model and Trauma-Informed Services approach. She is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor, Certified Addictions Counselor II, and a member of the American Counseling Association.
Shaleen Guthrie, MSW, Counselor
Shaleen Guthrie, MSW, earned her Bachelor degree in Social Work from Indiana University. She received her Master degree in Social Work from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Her past work experience includes educating students on the impact of dating violence and offering youth the sills and resources to help themselves or friends in abusive dating relationships. She has also worked with adults battling addictions, in which she facilitated client’s use of family, social and community resources. Shaleen joined the Youth Services Bureau staff in May 2016 and she is passionate and committed to advocacy that increases the well-being of at-risk youth and their families. Shaleen’s volunteer experience includes, Big Brother Big Sister, Stepping Stones and Shalom Community Center.

Nicholas Ackerman, Bachelor of Arts, Case Manager
Nicholas earned his Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 2013. Prior to working at Youth Services Bureau, he worked for the Monroe Circuit Court Probation Department of Monroe County for two years. He has been in his current position as Case Manager since August of 2016. Case Manager is the second position Nicholas has held at Youth Services Bureau. Previously, he worked as a Residential Specialist as a part of the direct care staff.
