Governor Mike Pence Directs Flags Be Flown at Half-staff for Former Gov. Edgar D. WhitcombGovernor Mike Pence is directing flags at state facilities statewide be flown at half-staff to honor former Governor Edgar D. Whitcomb, who passed away today, Thursday, February 4. Flags should be flown at half-staff for seven days from his passing, through Thursday, February 11. Governor Pence also asks businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff to honor Governor Whitcomb for his service to Indiana and the nation.

 A public hearing was held, June 17th, 2014 to accept public comment on the Rural Zoning ordinance proposal for areas outside of the Monroe County Urbanizing Area and Designated Communities.  To learn more about the proposed ordinances visit the County Planning Page for updates.  General comments will may be submitted to and will be accepted through June 21, 2014.

7/31/2010 2:17:00 PM Drivers and Van Coordinator Needed

Many veterans use the DAV Van to get to their appointments at Roudebush VA Medical Center.  In order to keep providing this service we need a veteran to volunteer for the position of coordinator.  There is also a shortage of drivers and right now one of the drivers is also filling in as van coordinator.

This week Baron Hill’s office forwarded us a press release and fact sheet from VA about a new Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) regulation that will reduce the evidence required to file for service connection for PTSD.

As a veteran there are things you can do to prevent delays in processing your claim even before the systemic changes are fully in place.  Providing proof that a disability is service connected is key to a successful claim.
