The Health Department works with the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control Office, 349-3492, 3410 S Walnut Street, the Monroe County Animal Management Office, 349-2585, located in the Sheriff Department at 301 N College Avenue and other state and local health departments on most domestic animal bite complaints.

Indiana Code 16-41-2-1 and 410 IC 1-2.3 provides information for all bites of domestic or wild animals to be reported to the Local Health Officer having jurisdiction. Animal bites reported include: dog, cat, ferret, bat, fox, rat,  skunk, and raccoon.
