The Health Department works with the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control Office located at 3410 S. Walnut Street (812-349-3492), the Monroe County Animal Management Office located in the Sheriff's Department at 301 N. College Avenue (812-349-2585) and other state and local health departments on most domestic animal bite complaints.
Indiana Code 16-41-2-1 and 410 IC 1-2.3 provide information for all bites of domestic or wild animals to be reported to the Local Health Officer having jurisdiction. Animal bites reported include: dog, cat, ferret, bat, fox, rat, skunk, and raccoon.
