Disease Intervention

The Disease Intervention Specialist provides intervention services and partner notification for people affected by HIV, Syphilis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Awareness and Prevention Programming for individuals, groups and corporations is offered upon request. The Disease Intervention Office is located at 338 S. Walnut St. in the Futures Family Planning Clinic. The phone number is 812-349-2829.
 
The Disease Intervention Program is state funded and serves 12 counties: Bartholomew, Brown, Clay, Greene, Lawrence, Monroe, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo.

The primary goal of disease intervention is to prevent the spread of disease and the development of complications.  The program is comprised of the following core components:
1. Surveillance
2. Case Detection
3. Case Follow-Up
4. Education
