1/17/2012 1:29:00 PM Funding for Sex Crimes Deputy Ends, Prosecutor and Judges Reorganize to Continue Focus

Thanks to a federal stimulus grant, the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office was able to establish a Sex Crimes Deputy prosecutor position in September of 2009.  Now that the grant has come to an end, funding for the specialized position has disappeared. Thankfully, Gaal has been able to work out an arrangement with the Board of Judges that will enable the Prosecutor’s Office to maintain its focus in the area of sex crimes cases – despite the loss of funding.

HPRP stands for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program. The purpose of the HPRP Program is to provide homelessness prevention assistance to households who would otherwise become homeless, many due to the current economic crisis, and to provide assistance to rapidly re-house persons who are homeless.
