have their plat maps linked to the Monroe County GIS
website at: The newly-upgraded GIS website now offers functions where you can search by street intersections, or view properties through Google-Earth's street view. You can also find other property information, such as assessed values and sales histories. General Information In 1816, the Office of County Recorder was the first local office created by the State of Indiana constitution. It is the primary duty of County Recorders to record instruments submitted for recording and maintain those records for perpetuity. What Does the Monroe County Recorder Do? · Processes and stores a range of instruments, most related to real estate, that are submitted for recording. Documents must meet all necessary conditions. · Files Uniform Commercial Code instruments. · Supplies copies of any recorded instrument and certifies, upon request, to those recorded.
