Middle Way House

Middle Way House Mission: To end violence in the lives of women and children by implementing or sponsoring activities and programs aimed at achieving individual and social change.

Protective Order Project (POP)

POP is a student-directed project at the Indiana University School of Law—Bloomington designed to help victims of domestic abuse obtain civil protective orders from the court, with the ultimate goal of preventing further abuse, both by restraining the abuser and by empowering the victim. Protective orders are an effective means of preventing domestic violence in most cases, because they enable the police to take action before violence occurs. POP utilizes the skills of law students, the advice and assistance of private volunteer attorneys, and the resources of Middle Way House Shelter, to serve victims of domestic violence in Monroe County.
