Members of the Monroe County Health Department Wastewater Division advise, inspect, and approve the installation of different Septic Systems in Monroe County.

Of the inspections conducted, many deal with the repair of existing systems. These repairs could be the result of a septic failure of either the field or a damaged tank or replacement of an old abandoned site requiring an all new system. The two major reasons for failure of an existing Septic System  in Monroe County  can be attributed to either age or abuse.  Abuse of a Septic System almost always deals with an undersized system and the over utilization and injection of water to the field.
