EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION 2009
General Information
The mission of the Monroe County Health
Department is to promote the best achievable scope and
quality of health services for the public.
The
health of every citizen is fundamental to their personal
happiness and well-being, and is essential to the security
and prosperity of the community, state, and nation.
The Health Department accomplishes these ends through
1. Promoting awareness and education of Personal and
Environmental Public Health issues.
2. Monitoring
Public Health activities within the community for
compliance with state and local laws and needs.
3. Promulgating appropriate
Public Health standards
for the above mentioned activities, when applicable.
4. Encouraging development of needed health
services when
identified as such.
5. Providing an avenue for the development
and implementation of
Health Services which may not be otherwise available in
the
community.
HEALTH BOARD MEETING
INFORMATION
The Monroe County Board of Health meets routinely,
four times per year in the Health Services Building in the Meeting Room located
at 119 W
7th Street @ 7:15 p.m. unless specified otherwise.
