CLOSURE
The Monroe County Health
Department & Futures Family Planning Clinic employees will
attend the Ten Essential Services Training held by the Indiana
State Department of Health. The trainings are
MANDATORY for each employee and approved by the County
Commissioners. The trainings are
held the fourth Wednesday of each month through October and the
third Wednesday in November & December from
8AM-9AM,
therefore, the Monroe County Health Department Office will
NOT OPEN until 9AM. We apologize for any
inconvenience.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION 2009
The mission of the
Monroe County Health Department is to promote the best
achievable scope and quality of health services for the
public. The health of every citizen is fundamental to their
personal happiness and well-being, and is essential to the
security and prosperity of the community, state, and nation.
The Health Department accomplishes these objectives through
the following steps.
1. Promoting awareness and education of Personal and
Environmental Public Health issues.
2.
Monitoring Public Health activities within the community for
compliance with state and local laws and needs.
3.
Promulgating appropriate Public Health standards for the above mentioned
activities, when applicable.
4.
Encouraging development of needed health services when
identified as such.
5.
Providing an avenue for the development and implementation of Health Services which may not be otherwise available in the community.

The Monroe
County Board of Health meets quarterly at the Health
Services Building in the Meeting Room. The Health Services Building is located at 119 W 7th Street.
The Board of Health members meet at 7:15 p.m.,
unless specified otherwise.
