Community Services Grants

In 2008 The Monroe County Council established a fund from which it makes grants to support various community projects.  Resolution 2008-51
Areas for Support:
  • Food, security, health, and shelter
  • Transportation
  • Climate Change
  • Emergency shortages
  • First responders
  • Veterans
  • Excellence in Government

Monday, August 16, 2010, 5:30 p.m. 

 

Advisory Q & A Meeting to be held in the Nat Hill III Room, 3rd Floor, Monroe County Courthouse.  A member of the Selection Committee will be present to answer any questions applicants may have.   This is solely an advisory meeting held for those who might wish to attend.

 

 

DEADLINE:  Friday, September 3, 2010, 4:00 p.m.

 

Deadline for submission of Applications.

 

Applications should be submitted to the Monroe County Council, Room 215, Courthouse, 100 W. Kirkwood Avenue, Bloomington, IN  47404

 

Thursday, September 16, 2010, 5:30 p.m. – Initial committee review  – Legal Library            

 

Thursday, September 23, 2010, 5:30 p.m

Public Meeting for Presentation by Top Applicants. Meeting to be held in the Nat Hill III Room, 3rd Floor, Monroe County Courthouse.

 

Thursday, September 30th, or Friday, October 1, 2010,

5:30 p.m. – Meeting for final decision

Announce Selection Committee results to County Council at October Work Session

Final Council Announcement of Awards, County Council Regular Session

 
Evaluation Criteria:
 
  • Programs must primarily serve Monroe County Residents
  • Likelihood that the dollar amount sought will accomplish the stated goal of the proposal
  • Leveraging of additional funds or assistance
  • Support for operational expenses will be considered, but not given highest priority

The Community Services Grants Review Committee is composed of five  members.  Three are representatives from the County Council.  Two citizen members are public appointments.
